Service Description
Best for Students ready for structured learning, guided tasting practice, and a deeper understanding of wine. Intro to Wine 101 is a structured introductory wine class designed to explain how wine works in a clear, approachable, and engaging way. The focus is educational, while remaining welcoming and supportive for those new to formal wine learning. Led by Suzanne Bonham, the class explores essential foundations of wine, including grape varieties, regions, winemaking style, and service considerations. You will learn why wines taste the way they do and how structure influences style and quality. Guided tasting practice is used throughout the session to illustrate key concepts. You will practice identifying characteristics such as acidity, sweetness, body, and tannin, building skills that allow you to describe what you taste with greater clarity and confidence. This class is designed to move you beyond guessing and toward understanding. By the end of Wine 101, you will have a stronger grasp of wine fundamentals and the confidence to make informed choices at home, in restaurants, or when selecting wine for others. Default Booking, Cancellation, and Waitlist Policy By booking a service with The Wineologist, you agree to the policies outlined below. Booking and Payment Bookings are subject to availability and are confirmed once payment and written confirmation are received. Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise stated. Private or corporate events may require a deposit to secure the date, with the remaining balance due prior to the event. Cancellations and Changes Cancellation and refund eligibility vary by service type and timing. Please refer to the Refund and Cancellation Policy on our website for specific terms. Requests to change dates, times, or guest counts must be submitted in advance and are subject to availability. No Shows and Late Arrivals Events begin promptly at the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may not be able to join once the educational portion has begun. No shows and last minute cancellations may be non refundable. Waitlists If an event is full, you may request to be placed on a waitlist. Placement on a waitlist does not guarantee a spot. If space becomes available, participants will be contacted in the order requests were received and must confirm promptly to secure the opening. Wine and Food All services provided by The Wineologist are educational in nature. Wine and food are not sold. When applicable, wine and food may be provided by the client or arranged separately as reimbursable expenses for educational tasting purposes. Age Requirement All participants must be 21 years of age or older for events involving alcohol. Proof of age may be required.
